PacWest Conference Players of the Week (Sept. 7)

IRVINE, Calif. -- After helping lead an exclusively freshman and sophomore Academy of Art University volleyball squad this past weekend at the Route 92 Showdown, outside hitter Stine Raben was named Pacific West Conference Co-Freshman of the Week for the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 6. The Schwerin, Germany native led ART U in kills in each of the contests and finished the week averaging team-highs of 3.5 points and 3.0 kills per set.

In Academy of Art's five-set victory over Montana State Billings on Sept. 4, Raben filled up the stat sheet with 16 kills (three in the final set), eight digs, and four block assists. She added 11 putaways against Stanislaus State then achieved her first collegiate double-double of 15 kills and 12 digs in another match that went the distance (Cal State Monterey Bay on Sept. 5). She closed out the tournament with six kills and six digs versus Chico State.

Raben surpasses Taylor Suchy for the most kills by an Academy of Art freshman through her first four matches.

This is the first PacWest weekly honor for Raben in her career and the first by an Urban Knight this season.
