Mobolade Ajomale was among the Academy of Art University track & field highlights once more to start the two-day University of Washington Invitational. Friday represented a lighter day with Urban Knights competing in just two events for each gender inside the Dempsey.
Though Ajomale did not surpass his previous time at the Ed Jacoby Invitational & Multi, his 21.34 mark was still nearly half a second faster than the next closest sprinter. The redshirt freshman was the top performer out of 41 competitors. Making his individual event debut,
Jordan Edwards was also among the top 10, tied for eighth with a time of 22.08.
In the women's 200m, an event featuring nearly double the sprinters compared to the men,
Keanna Moody finished 19th of 81with a time of 25.36.
The men opened with a strong time in the distance medley relay as
Kris Everett,
Roman Skovronski,
Joshua Browne, and
Pierre Fontanarosa combined to go 10:11.04. The quartet finished second of seven competing teams, but missed the NCAA provisional by less than four seconds.
