OAKLAND, Calif. – After more than a two-week break from competition, Academy of Art University women's basketball picked up right where it left off, never trailing in an 80-53 rout of Holy Names inside Tobin Gymnasium on Tuesday. Senior guards
Jasmin Guinn and
Regina Camera combined for 29 points, 19 rebounds, and 11 steals in a game that featured a season-high 33 points off turnovers and 42 points in the paint for the Urban Knights.

"We are very happy with where our rotation is at," said head coach
LaNay Larson. "We have gotten some people healthy and our group has become much deeper. This is a very unselfish team; they don't care who scores, we have many weapons, and they realize the wins are most important."
ART U scored nine points in the first two minutes of the game with senior guard
Zoie Sheng and senior center
Caron Brown accounting for seven of those. The Hawks rallied back to tie the game at 11-11, but Academy of Art quickly rebutted with a 9-0 run highlighted by press defense and a transition 3-pointer from Camera off Guinn's steal (the third consecutive Knights theft in that sequence).
"Our defense once again led to easy points on offense and really got us off to a good start," said Larson.
Six different ART U players contributed to the 26-15 advantage the visitors held one quarter in and a mixture of layups or free throws helped the Knights push a 20-point lead after starting the second with a 10-3 surge. Sophomore guard
Desiree Harris and Guinn added layups in the half's final two minutes to double the Hawks' point total in the quarter (16-8), giving Academy of Art a 42-23 lead into halftime.

No one on ART U had scored in double figures at the break and the offensive threats continued to vary as senior guard
Sha'Nice Storey came alive with 10 points in the third quarter. In a memorable sequence, Camera converted a layup, tracked down a steal, then delivered a
nifty behind-the-back pass to Sheng to push a 27-point margin as Academy of Art never let their lead drop below 20 points the rest of the way.
Back-to-back layups by Guinn in the fourth elevated the Knights' advantage beyond 30 points and ART U would finish off the 80-53 win with the fewest points allowed by an opponent thus far in 2015-16.
The victory raises Academy of Art's overall record to 10-5 and, most importantly, keeps them one of three undefeated teams in PacWest Conference play at 5-0. Guinn finished with her fifth double-double of the season (16 points, 10 rebounds) along with six steals. Camera also stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Harris scored a season-high 13 points in 20 minutes off the bench while Storey had 12 points in 22 minutes. Sheng added eight points and five assists.
Holy Names drops to 3-10 overall and 2-3 in conference with the loss. The tandem of Chariaha Scott (11 points) and Holly Shafer (10 points) both came off the bench to lead the Hawks offensively. HNU was undone by 26 turnovers which tied ART U's season-best.
The Urban Knights' busy week next has them hosting Point Loma on Jan. 7 at noon inside Kezar Pavilion.
