CBU Invitational Final Results-Day OneÂ
CARONA, Calif. – Academy of Art Women's Golf exits day one of the Cal Baptist Invitational on top of the leaderboard.

As a team, ART U is in first place by a large margin with a combined stroke total of 303 (17 in front of second-place CSU San Marcos). The Knights' 17 stroke differential between first and second place is the largest distance between any two spots on the scoresheet.

Academy of Art has an unprecedented four players who finished in the top ten (the most of any program in the tournament). Leading the way is junior
Crystal Wang who is currently tied for first place after shooting a 73 with three birdies in the first round. Right behind Wang is fellow junior
Roxanne Matta who finished round one tied for third with a score of 75 and scored three birdies as well. Tied for fifth place is freshman
Sabrina Virtusio who posted a 77, and rounding out the top ten for ART U is sophomore
Shu-lin Lin who finished tied for eighth (78). Lin entered the tournament with an injury to her arm, giving her impressive score even further significance.

Sterling Hawkins also shot a strong first round, placing 22nd with a total of 82 strokes.

"It was great to see the Knights played with confidence today," said head coach
Elaine Harris. "Even with wind and playing on a tricky golf course, the team on a whole putted well and executed their shots…I look forward to watching the team play again tomorrow."

The final round of the CBU Invitational begins tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
