Pacwest Conference Players of the Week (Feb. 1)
 
The Academy of Art women's tennis team season opener was highlighted by senior Michelle Dandik Zaale's outstanding performance on January 31.
 
In singles, Dandik Zaale defeated Division I Portland State's Tracy Dong 4-6, 7-5, 11-9. After losing the first set and trailing 5-2 in the second, she managed to win five straight games to force it into a tiebreaker. The senior led early, only to see Dong tie the score at nine. However, the Quebec native won the next two points to win the match.
 
The senior also won her doubles match, partnering with freshman Paula Alcantara to defeat their opposing tandem 6-0.
 
This is Dandik Zaale's first career PacWest Player of the Week award.
