Match ResultsBOCA RATON, Fla. – The Urban Knights returned to Boca Raton to face the No. 12 New York Institute of Technology Bears on Saturday.  Despite keeping it close, ART U was just edged 5-3 in their final match in Florida.

Taisiia Andrieieva paired up to defeat Melanie Benyadi and Gabriela Siembab of NYIT 8-4. Senior
Michelle Dandik Zaale and freshman
Paula Alcantara came within three games of winning their match, faling short by a score of 8-5.

Entering the singles portion of the contest, Academy of Art needed to win four out of six matches to take home the victory, but could only come away with two. Junior
Annika Schneider swept her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in fourth singles while freshman
Alma Thell-Lenntorp played two close sets winning both by a score of 6-4 (fifth singles).

With the win, NYIT improved to 17-0 (including matches in the fall), while ART U fell below .500 to a 6-7 mark.

The Urban Knights posted a 1-4 record on their trip to Florida, while facing off with four opponents ranked within the top 15 in the country. Academy of Art will now return home to prepare for a match against Cal State Los Angeles on Wednesday, March 23 at noon. Â
