Women's Tennis Defeats No. 31 PLNU 6-3

Academy of Art versus Point Loma Final Results
 
SAN DIEGO –  No. 23 Academy of Art women's tennis (5-2) took their winning show on the road Friday, defeating No. 31 Point Loma (4-5) 6-3.
 
In the doubles portion of the match, freshman Taisiia Andrieieva and junior Annika Schneider combined for an 8-5 victory over the Sea Lions while twin freshmen Alma Thell-Lenntorp and Klara Thell-Lenntorp defeated their rivals 8-1.
 
After posting a 2-1 record to begin the contest, the competition turned toward singles where the Urban Knights went 4-2. ART U dropped first and second singles, but senior Michelle Dandik Zaale (6-3, 6-3), junior Annika Schneider (6-0, 6-0), freshman Klara Thell-Lenntorp (6-4, 6-1), and freshman Alma Thell-Lenntorp (7-6, 6-0) won the third through sixth contests respectively.

ART U continues their road trip on Saturday with a match against rivaled No. 9 Hawaii Pacific on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. This will be the first matchup between the two teams since they last faced off in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
