PacWest Conference Runner of the Week (Sept. 6)

IRVINE, Calif. -- After leading all NCAA Division II runners at the University of San Francisco Invitational at Golden Gate Park this past weekend, graduate student Joshua Thorson has been named Pacific West Conference Runner of the Week. The award was based on races Sept. 1-4.

Thorson, a graduate student and Division III National Champion previously at University of Wisconsin-EAU Claire, finished 20th overall with a time of 25:10.5 through the 8k race. He improved 10 places in the final 6k and wound up crossing the line ahead of a contingent of six runners from Division I Stanford.

This is the first PacWest Runner of the Week honor for Thorson.
