2017 Otter Invitational Final Results

SEASIDE, Calif. – Entering the final round in second place, No. 21 Academy of Art women's golf finished the day with a total of 331 strokes which gave them a seventh-place finish out of 18 teams. Junior Sterling Hawkins was the top scorer, finishing tied for seventh amongst 99 individuals.
 
Hawkins came into Tuesday in a five-way tie for the top individual spot after shooting a 73 in the opening round. Hawkins' 80 (+8) strokes in the final 18 holes held her position in the top 10 and she finished tied for seventh-place with 153 strokes overall. Her day was highlighted with a birdie on the 11th-hole. Junior Shu-lin Lin was also tied for first-place after the opening day of action and she followed up her performance with 81 strokes on Tuesday to complete the tournament in a tie for ninth.
 
The next three Knights came within five strokes of each other in the closing round. Freshman Elan Hawkins tied for 40th overall with an 84-stroke final round, freshman Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo tied for 57th with 86 strokes and senior Roxanne Matta came in a tie for 68th-place with a score of 89 on Tuesday.
 
Academy of Art will now return to San Francisco where they will prepare for their final scheduled tournament of the season: the PacWest Conference Championship April 24-26 in Kahuku, Hawaii.
