KNIGHT WATCH
Redshirt junior forward Victor Ruiz de Carranza continues to impress in his first year as an Urban Knight. In ART U's game against Westminster on Nov. 24, Carranza led the Knights in points with nine and rebounds with six. Playing well on both sides of the ball, the forward also forced a career high five steals to more than double his season total (7). Tied for most points in Academy of Art's latest game was senior guard Kiel Long who put up a season high nine points, including his first 3-pointer of the year, two steals, and three rebounds.

PACWEST FAVORITE SEA LIONS
The preseason PacWest favorite Point Loma is 4-2 to start the year. The Sea Lions hit triple digits in their first game of the season, a 100-75 shootout versus Montana State Billings for their first win. PLNU dropped their next match to Saint Martin's 76-81, before knocking off No. 15 UC San Diego in a barn burner decided by two points (75-73). The upset launched the Sea Lions into a three game winning streak that included a 85-49 rout of San Diego Christian. The streak was ended in their latest game by No. 16 St. Cloud State 65-74. PLNU is led by the highest scoring player in the PacWest - Daulton Hommes who is averaging 24.3 points per game and has scored 30 or more points in three games. Academy of Art lost the most recent meeting 55-86 and is 2-7 all time against the Sea Lions.

EVEN EAGLES
Concordia took on a heavy non-conference schedule, playing eight games before PacWest play to begin the season at an even 4-4. The Eagles opened with a close 69-72 loss to Embry-Riddle University before capturing their first win against Drury University in another game decided by a three point margin 65-62. A pair of streaks followed, the first a three game losing streak that started with No. 4 West Texas A&M, and the second a three game win streak beginning with an 84-68 victor over Sonoma State. The Eagles took down SF State in their next contest 75-55, before beating Antelope Valley 74-65 in their most recent game. Brian Chambers averages 17 points per game to provide the scoring for CUI, and is ranked fifth in the PacWest in assists with four per game. The last time the two teams met, the Urban Knights won a thrilling double overtime victory by a score of 81-79, though Academy of Art trails in the all-time series 1-3.

GRIFFINS EDGE KNIGHTS WITH SECOND HALF SURGE
Academy of Art led by as many as seven points in the first half, but a strong second half by the Griffins resulted in a 56-50 loss for ART U on the final day of the Dixie State Thanksgiving Classic inside of the Burns Arena. Read More.
