PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Sept. 4)

Sept. 1, Academy of Art cross country graduate students
Freddie Hessian and
Hasna Kaarour were each named Pacific West Conference Runners of the Week while redshirt
Audrey Rosencrans brought home PacWest Freshman of the Week honors. The awards were based on meets run Aug. 27-Sept. 2.
In his first race of 2018, Hessian was strong in the front half of the 77-runner 8k race through Golden Gate Park. His 5:12.2 average mile time helped him finish 33rd with a final mark of 25:52.19, roughly six seconds off his career-best on an 8k course.
The women's team was paced by Kaarour, who made her ART U debut with a time of 22:10.6 through the 6k course. She came in at 19th overall and sported an average mile time of 5:56.8.
As the highest freshman from a NCAA Division II institution to finish, Rosencrans came across the finish line at 25th overall offering a time of 22:37.4. Her average mile time was 6:04.0.
These are the first PacWest weekly honors in the careers of both Hessian, Kaarour, and Rosencrans.
