KNIGHT WATCH
After having their originally scheduled Friday game postponed, the Urban Knights battled the Sunbirds on Saturday. Despite holding an 11-point lead in the first half, ART U could not close it out down the stretch, and an FPU 3-pointer with 4.2 seconds left would help
top the Knights 82-78.
Two Knights
nearly collected a double-double by falling just one rebound shy, as senior forward
Josh Hill and junior guard
Christian Popoola Jr. pulled down nine boards apiece. Hill would lead the team with 19 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the floor, while Popoola Jr. and senior guard
Stefan Milivojevic each added 18 points.
Continuing to lead the team in scoring average is Milivojevic, who's performance pushed him up to 16.0 points per game on the season. Hill checks in just behind with 13.8 points per game, and is also leading the team in rebounding average with 12.6 rebounds per game, a mark that
currently leads the PacWest. Ball movement has helped a pair of Knights average over 2.0 assists per game, with senior guard
Joshua Bagley sitting at 3.6 assists per game while Popoola Jr. has tallied 2.4.
RECORD CHASING
Having scored 80 total points this season, Milivojevic now sits at 979 points for his career, meaning he is just 21 points away from being the first player in
ART U history to reach 1,000 points. Despite owning most ART U shooting records, Milivojevic still looks to improve upon his career scoring average, sitting in seventh place at 11.4 points per game just behind current teammate Hill's 11.9 points per game career average.
That isn't the only place where Hill appears in the ART U record books, however, as the senior forward continues to chase second place
in career rebounds. Currently he sits in third at 308 total rebounds, behind former teammate
Victor Ruiz de Carranza's 377 career boards. Of the 308 in Hill's career, he has amassed 190 rebounds on the defensive end, marking him seventh in the category.
SIZING UP THE PENGUINS
Dominican has not been able to take the court in the time since the last faced off against the Urban Knights, a split on opening weekend. The Penguins were winners on opening night, coming back from a first-half deficit to claim victory by
a final of 77-73. However, on the next night out it was Dominican to be taken down in a comeback effort, as
ART U erased a 26-point deficit to storm all the way back and
take the 72-67 victory. Dominican owns the edge i
n the all-time history between the two squads 17-7, but ART U will look to build upon their last win over the Penguins.
