Knights Not Able To Overcome Penguins In Finale

OAKLAND, Calif. – Academy of Art men's basketball was tasked with a come-from-behind effort in the final game of the season, but ran out of time against the Penguins in Pacific West Conference action and would fall by a final of 66-56 on Friday.

After a feeling out process in the beginning of the first half, the Penguins (4-5, 4-5 PacWest) would establish control and not look back, keeping one step ahead of the Urban Knights (3-10, 2-9 PacWest) thanks to the Penguins' hot shooting. Not even a push late in the second half could do the trick, as ART U would cut the deficit down to nine, but could not get any closer as Dominican would cruise to the 10-point victory.

Senior guard Dante Williams gave it his all on the court, ending his night with a double-double after a 17-point, 10-rebound game. His 17 points would lead all scorers, topping the 16 by teammate and fellow senior guard Stefan Milivojevic. Senior foward Josh Hill would just miss out on a double-double by two points, finishing with eight points and a game-high 12 boards.

For Dominican, three different players would end in double figures, with Jordan Williams, Christian Futch, and Jaelen Ragsdale would all knock down at least five buckets each. Ragsdale would be the only one to end up with a double-double on the Penguins, concluding his night with 10 rebounds and 11 points.
