2022 West Regional Preview (Rounds 1 & 2)
DALLAS – It was a lengthy start to the 2022 West Regional Preview for Academy of Art women's golf, as the Urban Knights battled their way through 36 holes to finish the first two rounds in 15th place at 67-over-par 643 on Monday.
Turning in the best round of the day was freshman
Nicole Yang, as her 5-over-par 77 was the lowest ART U single round score of the afternoon. Combined with a 7-over-par 79 did the second round, she sits tied for 49th place at 12-over-par 156. Following behind Yang is junior
Valeria Ruiz in a tie for 67th place, and she combined for an overall score 16-over-par 160. Rounding out the scoring was the pair of freshman
Maddie Elias, tied for 75th place at 18-over-par 162, and senior
Jae Eun Park who is tied for 80th at 21-over-par 165.
The top team from the Pacific West Conference are the Eagles of Biola, sitting tied for fourth as a unit with a combined score of 22-over-par 598, but they still trail overall leader Dallas Baptist at the top of the leaderboard as the only team in the red at 1-under-par 575. DBU also features the individual leader in Julia Garcia at 5-under-par 139 while the top PacWest individual is Brady Turnquist of the Eagles at 2-over-par 146 in a tie for 10th place.
The 2022 West Regional Preview concludes tomorrow, with the final round teeing off with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
