Sydney Harmon To Deepen Knights Rotation This Spring

SAN FRANCISCO – Welcoming more versatility to its 2023 squad, Academy of Art softball Head Coach Nikki Gentile and her staff have announced the addition of pitcher/outfielder Sydney Harmon (Meno, Okla./North Central University) prior to the Urban Knights' next campaign beginning this February.

0Joining ART U after her first official collegiate season with North Central University, Harmon comes off a 2022 campaign in which she hit .277 with 18 runs scored, 14 runs batted in, and three stolen bases across 34 games (32 starts) while also making eight appearances (six starts) in the pitcher's circle, offering a 3.13 earned run average with two complete games in 31.0 total innings of work.

"Sydney is a great addition for us before the start of season," Gentile said. "She is a left-handed pitcher who adds depth offensively and offers even more athleticism in the outfield."

Harmon was a four-year varsity letter winner in softball at Cimarron High School prior to her college career. Earning All-State Team in both 2020 and 2021, she was also team captain and, outside of high school, competed for her club teams including OKC Gold 16U, Guthrie OK/USA Nationals 18U, and Edmond OK.

As she works toward a career as a digital campaign manager/creative lead, Harmon will enter the Academy of Art School of Advertising this spring.
