2022 All-PacWest Teams (Full Release)
IRVINE, Calif. – It has been quite the year for Academy of Art men's soccer junior midfielder/forwardÂ
Gilly Miller. Following a campaign in which he became the new ART U record-holder for goals and points in a single season, Miller punctuated his 2022 run by being named to the All-PacWest Second Team as announced by the Pacific West Conference on Wednesday.Â
Miller led Academy of Art in all offensive statistical categories this year, becoming
the only Urban Knight in program history to score 10 goals in a season while also re-writing the points record with 26, setting both records in the same match
when he netted a brace against Fresno Pacific on Oct. 27 (his second consecutive two-goal performance
after doing so against Holy Names on Oct. 23). Meanwhile, his six assists this year are not only a career best, but are second-most in a single ART U campaign. Two of his goals went down as game-winners for Academy of Art, and he produced a season-best point streak of four consecutive matches.Â

Across the PacWest, Miller ranked tied for first in assists (fourth in the West Region) and tied for second in goals (third in the West Region), second in total points (third in the West Region), third in points per game (1.44), second in shots (58 total and 3.22 per game), and second in shots on goal (32 and 1.78 per game).Â
This is the second time in Miller's career that he has earned postseason recognition on an All-PacWest Team, as he was named the
2020-21 PacWest Newcomer of the Year after the COVID-19 shortened season while also being selected to theÂ
2020-21 All-PacWest Northern California Team.
He now becomes the fifth Urban Knight to have multiple career All-PacWest honors, joining
Kristof Urbanyi (2014, 2015),Â
Thorvaldur "Thobbi" Sveinsson (2011, 2013),
Adrian Cekala (2020, 2021), and
Bilal Mihoubi (2020, 2021). This is the third consecutive year that an Urban Knight has been named to an All-PacWest Team, tying an ART U record that was initially set from 2013-2015.Â
