2022 Hanny Stanislaus Invitational (Final Results)
TURLOCK, Calif. – Starting the day in the upper tier, Academy of Art men's golf junior
Matthew Watkins would hold onto a top-20 finish at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational by ending the tournament in 20th place at 3-over-par 219, leading the way for ART U who finished in 15th place at 62-over-par 926 as a squad.Â
The final round was the only round over par for Watkins at 6-over-par 78, as he was able to snag one birdie in his final round by doing so on the 18th hole. Carding the best final round for the Urban Knights was freshman
Anson Pan with a 3-over-par 75 thanks to a total of four birdies on the day, as he ended the tournament as the second-best finisher for ART U in a tie for 47th place at 13-over-par 229. Trailing behind Pan was fellow freshman
Giulio Zanichelli in a tie for 60th place at 17-over-par 233, while rounding out the scoring was freshman
Jack DeBenedetti in a tie for 79th place.Â
Winning the individual portion of the tournament was Tyler Fitchett of Saint Martin's with a final score of 7-under-par 209, though it was Western Washington that was the team winner of the tournament at 2-over-par 866. The best Pacific West Conference team finish was that of Holy Names in fifth place at 6-over-par 870, led by the top PacWest individual in Edvin Backstrom in third place at 6-under-par 210.Â
Next up for the Urban Knights is the RJGAÂ Palm Valley Classic, as the final tournament prior to the PacWest Championship tees off from Palm Valley Golf Club on Monday, Apr. 4.Â
