2022 NCAA Woman of the Year Conference Nominees

Lauryn HendersonIRVINE, Calif. – Excelling academically, athletically, as a leader, and with respect to service throughout her career, Academy of Art softball's Lauryn Henderson will be one of two NCAA Woman of the Year nominees representing the Pacific West Conference.

Joining UH Hilo's Jodi Lillie as two of the 151 nominees from the conference level, Henderson not only completed her collegiate career as an All-American with multiple program records, she also offered a 3.47 cumulative grade point average in the School of Game Development, was the first Urban Knight to appear in Academy of Art's Spring Show five times and offered more than 70 community service hours all while leading her teammates and fellow students both on and off the diamond.

The Woman of the Year Selection Committee, made up of representatives from the NCAA membership, will now choose 10 nominees from each division to make up the national Top 30 honorees. The Top 30 honorees will be announced in October. From there, the selection committee will narrow the pool to three finalists from each division. The NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics will select the 2022 Woman of the Year from the nine finalists. At January's NCAA Convention in San Antonio, the national Top 30 honorees will be celebrated, and the NCAA Woman of the Year will be announced.

Henderson is the third Urban Knight to be selected as the PacWest's NCAA Woman of the Year representative after softball's Elyse Cordova (2015) and golf's Andrea Nieto (2014), the latter of whom was a Top 25 finalist (prior to the current "top 30" distinction).
