SAN FRANCISCO – Deepening its roster for the upcoming 2022-23 season, Academy of Art men's golf Head Coach
Deven DeLuca has announced that Jerah Venkaiya (Fairfield, Calif./Vanden) will become the program's newest Urban Knight when school resumes in September.
"We are excited to add another local Bay Area player in Jerah Venkaiya," said DeLuca. "His values and hard-working attitude will blend well with our team culture and we look forward to growing with him as a student-athlete."
Across his four years on the varsity golf team at Vanden High School, Venkaiya was a three-time All-League honoree, three-time Most Valuable Player, and three-time team captain with one year missed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was the owner of 17 top 10 finishes and an 18-hole average of 75.3 in his high school career.
Venkaiya will continue to pursue his future career goal of becoming a professional golfer while beginning in the Academy of Art School of Communications & Media Technologies this fall.
