2023 Saint Martin's Bishop Invitational Results (Round 1)

DUPONT, Wash. – Off to a great start at the Saint Martin's Bishop Invitational is Academy of Art men's golf sophomore Giulio Zanichelli, as his round one score of 4-under-par 68 not only leads the Urban Knights, but is also tied for second place in the field. As a unit, ART U is tied for eighth place at a combined 11-over-par 299.

After shooting even par with a pair of birdies on the front nine, Zanichelli finished the round on a high note by going 5-under-par over the last four holes, highlighted by an eagle on the 16th hole. He was one of three players in the entire field to record an eagle, while his five total birdies tied him for fourth. The Industrial Design major's 4-under-par 68 added his name to the program's top 10 all-time single best rounds. Joining him at the top half of the leaderboard just outside the top 20 is sophomore Anson Pan who dropped three birdies on the day, including two on the back nine, to close his opening around at 2-over-par 74. Also scoring for the Urban Knights was junior Allan Osornio, tying for 48th place at 6-over-par 78, while sophomore Ralph Kho is tied for 54th place at 7-over-par 79. 

With a combined score of 299 that was matched by Bellevue College, ART U trails behind co-leaders Western Washington and Victoria, as both schools turned in a combined score of 2-under-par 286. UH Hilo is the top competing Pacific West Conference school, currently fourth with a score of 4-over-par 292.

Round two commences tomorrow as Zanichelli leads the Urban Knights into the final round with tee times set for 8 a.m.
