2022 SMU Bishop Invitational (Final Results)
DUPONT, Wash. – A top 10 finish remained in the cards for Academy of Art men's golf sophomore
Giulio Zanichelli at the Saint Martin's Bishop Invitational, as he once again turned in the best ART U round of the day to end the first tournament of the fall in a tie for seventh place at 2-under-par 142. His play helped lead Academy of Art to a 10th place finish as a unit at 27-over-par 603.
Starting out the day tied for second, Zanichelli dropped a few spots but stayed within the top 10 after he shot a 2-over-par 74 in the final round, picking up three birdies on the back nine to salvage the day. It also meant that he finished in a tie for seventh in the tournament field in birdies with eight. Just behind Zanichelli with a 3-over-par 75 on the day was sophomore
Anson Pan, as he was the second-best ART U finisher at 5-over-par 149 to tie for 29th place. Also scoring for Academy of Art was juniorÂ
Allan Osornio in a tie for 49th place at 10-over-par 154, well sophomore
Ralph Kho tied for 58th place at 14-over-par 158.
While Academy of Art bested fellow Pacific West Conference school Dominican by two strokes to finish in 10th place, the Urban Knights watched Simon Fraser jump two spots to claim the team portion of the tournament at a combined score of 7-under-par 569. Ending as the top PacWest team in the field was UH Hilo, combining for a 7-over-par 583. Simon Fraser also boasted the individual champion, as Aiden Goodfellow took first place with a final score 6-under-par 138.Â
Academy of Art will quickly returned to the course, as the Urban Knights Will participate in the WWU Invitational beginning on Monday.Â
