2022 Westminster Wasatch Invitational (Second Round)

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – While Academy of Art women's golf was able to best their score from the opening round of the 2022 Westminster Wasatch Invitational by two strokes on day two, it did not result in a move on the leaderboard as ART U remained steady in seventh place with a combined score of 60-over-par 636.

While the Urban Knights did not move up, junior Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn did as she turned in the day's best score for Academy of Art at 2-over-par 74 with one birdie on both the front and back nine, vaulting into a tie for 16th place at 9-over-par 153. Hanging just outside the top 20 in a tie for 24th place is freshman Nicole Yang, who matched Rattanaprakarn's round of 2-over-par 74 including one birdie on both the back and front nine to bring her overall score to 12-over-par 156. Junior Tessa Geenen is next up for Academy of Art, dropping into a tie for 34th place at 17-over-par 161 while rounding out the scoring for the Knights is junior Valeria Ruiz in a tie for 49th place at 22-over-par 166.

Still at the top of the leaderboard is the University of Tampa, as they hold a 16-stroke advantage over second place Colorado Christian with a combined score of 13-over-par 589. After a second consecutive round score of 1-under-par 71, Ana Maria Jimenez Rios has retained first place in the individual portion with an overall score of 2-under-par 142. Though Academy of Art is still the top Pacific West Conference team in the tournament, the top PacWest individual is Madison Voisard of Biola in a tie for 10th place at 7-over-par 151. 

The 2022 Westminster Wasatch Invitational concludes with round three tomorrow as the Urban Knights are among the final group to tee off beginning at 9:50 a.m. MT.
