Women's Golf In Middle Of Pack To Open SSU Invite

SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Academy of Art women's golf ended the first round of the Sonoma State Fall Invitational in sixth place thanks to a strong performance from freshman Chantel Tsai who helped power the squad to 16-over-par 304 at the Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club, currently 11 strokes behind leader Hawai'i Pacific.
 
Playing in just her second ever collegiate golf tournament, Tsai concluded day one tied for ninth after carding a 2-over-par 74 and is just three strokes back of the four-way tie for the lead (1-under-par 71) following four birdies through her first round. Tsai is the first of four Urban Knights currently slotted in the top-30, with senior Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn tying for 23rd at 4-over-par 76 while graduate student Jae Eun Park and sophomore Nicole Yang check in just behind in a tie for 28th each at 5-over-par 77. ART U has recorded nine birdies through the first round.
 
The tournament's final round will commence on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
