FINAL ROAD TRIP TAKES ART U THROUGH HAWAIIAN TRIO
Away from home for the last time this season and coming off its victory over Dominican, Academy of Art volleyball prepares to rematch the Pacific West Conference's three Hawaii-based schools this week.

FIRST SERVE
ART U begins with UH Hilo inside Vulcan Gymnasium on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. HT (9 p.m. PT) before island-hopping to Oahu for a pairing with No. 15 Chaminade on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. HT (7 p.m. PT) from McCabe Gymnasium. The third and finale gameday, Sunday, Nov. 12, pits the Urban Knights against Hawaii Pacific inside The Shark Tank at 6 p.m. HT (8 p.m. PT). Remember to follow @ARTU_Knights via the athletics app (Apple App Store, Google Play Store) and on Twitter & Instagram, as well as "Like" the Urban Knights on Facebook for score updates, videos, and recaps.

KNIGHT WATCH
Maya McClellanTying the program record with 15 service aces most recently against Dominican on Nov. 4, Academy of Art has elevated to second in the PacWest at 1.87 service aces per set (on pace to be well over the program record of 1.67 set last year) in addition to settling at fifth in digs per set (14.88). The tandem of graduate student outside hitter/right side Maya McClellan and graduate student outside hitter Amalie Rupertova represent one of just three conference pairs inside the top nine in points per set, ranking third (4.17) and ninth (3.26) respectively. That duo is also among the top 10 in kills per set with McClellan at 3.56 (fourth) and Rupertova at 2.74 (10th). In addition to combining for 19 double-doubles (McClellan 11, Rupertova nine) and representing two of ART U's six student-athletes to average over 3.00 kills per set in a career (McClellan 3.16, Rupertova 3.05), McClellan's 317 kills have her eighth in ART U single-season history.  Junior setter Elly McInerney's back-to-back performances with three service aces have pushed her up to seventh in the PacWest in service aces per set (0.39) while her 5.77 assists per set continue to rank third. Coming off a 22-dig effort versus the Penguins, freshman libero LC-Reece Nakagawa has risen to fourth in the conference in digs per set (3.99).

VERSUS THE VULCANS
It has been an up and down stretch for UH Hilo since the Vulcans' win over ART U on Oct. 7 with victories over Westmont, Fresno Pacific, and Biola despite three losses most recently to Concordia, Westmont, and Azusa Pacific. UH Hilo, who will play Dominican on Nov. 8 before Academy of Art, is led by Emerson Reinke's 9.45 assists per set (first in PacWest) who has been setting up Isabella Hadaller (3.33) and Taylor Tullo (3.09) who rank sixth and seventh respectively in the conference in kills per set. Including the result from this season, the Vulcans lead ART U 17-5 in the historical matchup.

SILVERSWORDS CHASING GOLD
Ranked No. 15 in the latest AVCA NCAA Division II National Poll, Chaminade has gone 11-1 since defeating Academy of Art on Oct. 5 in the Bay Area. The Silverswords (14-3), currently contending with Point Loma (16-0) for the PacWest title, lead the conference in assists (12.30), service aces (2.21), and digs per set (16.03) while checking in at second in kills (13.52) and points (17.64) per set as well as hitting percentage (.238). CUH will play Dominican on Nov. 10 ahead of its rematch with the Knights and continues to be led by Ajack Malual's 3.46 kills per set (fifth in PacWest), 0.48 service aces per set (0.48) and Hula Crisostomo's 4.90 digs per set (first in PacWest). Recent success has brought Chaminade to a 16-8 advantage all-time against Academy of Art.

HPU PART TWO
Just one loss back of ART U in the conference standings, Hawaii Pacific topped Fresno Pacific twice and Dominican following the Urban Knights' 3-2 win over the Sharks on Oct. 4, but has otherwise fallen in eight matches including five consecutive sweeps. HPU has relied upon 2.14 kills per set from Demi Winters as well as Kylie Komo's 3.58 digs per set (sixth in PacWest) as they head into a match versus Dominican on Nov. 11 ahead of facing the Knights. Alternating wins over each of the last five meetings, Hawaii Pacific is ahead of the Knights 18-7 historically.

RECORD-TYING 15 SERVICE ACES PROPEL ART U TO 3-1 VICTORY
Academy of Art volleyball was locked in from the service line throughout its first Pacific West Conference matchup with Dominican on Nov. 4 inside Conlan Center, recording five aces in two separate sets en route to a 3-1 (25-21, 25-12, 22-25, 25-21) victory over the Penguins. The end result was 15 service aces to tie the program record while Amalie Rupertova and Maya McClellan combined for 27 kills.

LOOKING AHEAD
Just one more match will remain for ART U when its Hawaii road trip is complete and that will be a rematch versus Dominican on Nov. 18, Senior Day/Staff Appreciation Day, inside Kezar Pavilion.
