DALY CITY, Calif. – In its third home match of the year, Academy of Art women's tennis collected its third consecutive win and third consecutive sweep, topping Fresno Pacific 7-0 at Bay Club South San Francisco on Saturday afternoon.

Winning two doubles pairings, the Urban Knights, now 3-1 overall, opened by securing the doubles point on the strength of junior Paulina Alvarez and senior Viktoria Leth's 6-4 win over Halle Faherty and Daimy Paula of the Sunbirds, now 1-6 overall, as well as a 6-4 victory for freshman Estelle Najean and sophomore Jessica Plazas to clinch the doubles point for the Knights on Court 2 versus Elise Leik and Audrey Ouellet as it was the third match to finish.

Shifting to singles action, Plazas started a straight-sets pattern on Court 2, defeating Leik by a 6-1, 6-1 final before freshman Amelija Supulniece bested Yume Ueoku on the first court 6-2, 6-3. Najean then cruised by Margarita Munoz 6-1, 6-2 on Court 4 with Leth also calmly grasping a win on Court 5 over Faherty 6-2, 6-0. Alvarez followed next with her 6-3, 6-4 win against Paula and junior Maria Vittoria Casucci returned to action victorious 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 versus Ouelett on Court 3 to close the day.

The Knights will host yet again on this upcoming Monday, Feb. 26 at Bay Club South San Francisco to take on UH Hilo starting at noon.
