PacWest Championship (Day Two Results)
WAIMEA, Hawaii — By the end of the second round of the Pacific West Conference Tournament, Academy of Art men's golf concluded their action with a 50-over-par 626 overall team score while improving by 22 strokes as a team compared to day one, as the squad is now sitting in fifth place.Â
Junior
Giulio Zanichelli did exactly what he needed in his second round of play, shooting a 2-under-par 70 today to put him into sixth place overall in the individual rankings with a 6-over-par 150. Also still in the top 10 and leading the Urban Knights in fifth place is senior
Jack DeBenedetti, who now holds a 5-over-par 149 overall after shooting his best single round of the season today with his even-par 72. Next up on the Knights is junior
Anson Pan, who holds a 19-over-par 163 while senior
Allan Osornio now maintains a 21-over-par 165 and freshman
Miguel Mendoza has shot a 23-over-par 167.Â
UH Hilo ranks first in the team rankings as they hold a 10-stoke lead over Hawaii Pacific, while third place Chaminade is 20 strokes back of the leader. Shion Suzuki of HPU, Ky Stopp of CUH, and Nicholas Gomez of UH Hilo are all currently tied up for the individual lead with a 2-over-par 146 apiece, while the Vulcans' Dylan Bercan is one stroke behind.
The PacWest Championship Tournament will finalize tomorrow with the third round being played at the Mauna Lani Country Club.
