2024 Hot Dirt Classic (Final Results)

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Urban Knights of Academy of Art men's golf finished up the final round of the Hot Dirt Classic on Saturday while ART U saw a new member of the squad shoot the best round of the day, with the team finalizing their score with a 42-over-par 618. 

Senior Jack DeBenedetti ended the tournament with the lowest score for the Knights for the first time this season, as he concluded with an 8-over-par 152 overall and shot a 1-over-par 73 in the last round, his single round season-best. Next up for ART U was junior Giulio Zanichelli who finished right behind, ending off with a 9-over-par 153 with his best round coming from the first day of action where he shot an identical best-round of 1-over-par 73. Junior Anson Pan came next in the individual standings for the Knights with his 12-over-par 156, while senior Allan Osornio finished with a 14-over-par 158, and freshman Miguel Mendoza rounded out the squad with his 22-over-par 166.

Colorado Christian finished strong on the second day of action as a team, recording a 10-under-par 566, the best single round of the tournament, as they cemented the comeback victory over Dallas Baptist after holding a two-stroke deficit after the first day. In the individual rankings, Sam Jenkins earned the rights to the individual title as he finished the tournament overall with an 8-under-par 136.

With nine tournaments now in the rear view mirror on the season for ART U, their 10th will take place in just under two weeks out on the islands in Waimea, Hawaii where the squad will compete in the Pacific West Conference Championship at the Mauna Lani Country Club, starting on Apr. 15.
