CSUSM Fujikura Invitational (Rounds 1 & 2)

VISTA, Calif. – To start off the spring season, Academy of Art men's golf concluded their first two rounds of the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational, totaling a 43-over-par 619 as a unit while the squad looks to battle back in the third round tomorrow.

Senior Giulio Zanichelli finished his first round of the invite off with a collection of birdies, totaling four over the course of the first play through to finish it with a 1-over-par 73, while he added on a 5-over-par 77 in the second round to total a 6-over-par 150 on the day. ART U's newest golfer in junior Zach DuBourdieu was next up for the team with a 7-over-par 151, while freshman Kok Siew "Andy" Chew was just next up on the team with his 13-over-par 157. Freshman Mario Stump came in thereafter with his 17-over-par 161, as senior Anson Pan shot a 21-over-par 165 to round out the squad.

Ahead for the current individual lead is Ivan Sablan of Sonoma State with a 7-under-par 137, as he leads over a trio of golfers, all with a 3-under-par 141 apiece. As a team, St. Mary's (Tex.) is leading the field with their 5-under-par 571 while Cal State San Marcos looks to defend their home course, just behind with a 3-under-par 573.

ART U will compete in the final round of the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational tomorrow morning with an 8 a.m shotgun start.
