2025 Brutus Hamilton Invitational Results
Amid numerous NCAA Division II Outdoor Nationals provisional efforts, Academy of Art track & field memorably posted program records and other ART U top-five all-time marks at this week's Stanford Invitational and Brutus Hamilton Invitational.
STANFORD, Calif. – Spanning Friday and Saturday, the Stanford Invite featured the most history as
Lina Hanich not only rebroke the program's 800m record, but ran another top-10 time ever in NCAA DII while
G'nea Pitt twice bettered the longest javelin throw by an Urban Knight to date.
Helping pace a dynamic heat in which all seven competitors ran 2:08.08 or faster, Hanich contended with Washington's Chloe Foerster before taking nearly two full seconds off the Academy of Art record, finishing at 2:03.60. The mark elevated the Advertising major to seventh in NCAA DII history (not unlike her fifth-place indoor time of 2:05.41 from
this past February) along with the No. 2 spot in the country this season.
Prior to her breakthrough in the 800m, Hanich highlighted Friday's action by running her fastest 400m to date. She turned in a 54.84 time that was fifth of 35 at Stanford, also fifth in program history, and 11th among Outdoor Nationals provisional qualifiers in 2025.
Tre'Sean Bouie continued to impress in the 400m, dropping down to a 46.84 on Friday. Fourth in program history, the mark was once again under the Outdoor Nationals provisional threshold, earning the Motion Pictures & Television major a top 10 ranking in the country as well as third of 27 on the day.
The following day, Bouie joined
Vaughn Lacour,
Josh Shavies, and
Ethan Forbes in producing the Knights' third Outdoor Nationals provisional time in the 4x400m relay. The squad posted a 3:12.45 with quartets from Fresno State and Seattle in tow.

Besting several NCAA DI opponents in her javelin throw flight, Pitt initially broke the program record on her first attempt at 133-10 (40.80m), but she did not stop there. Her second try flew nearly three full feet further, going 136-9 (41.69m) to extend the top spot. In the end, she finished seventh out of 16 overall following the final round of throws.
Prior to competing at Cal on Saturday, Southern nearly surpassed her personal record with a 4:27.92 in the 1500m on Friday. The Outdoor Nationals provisional mark, good for top 20 in NCAA DII, was just 0.42 seconds from her career best (4:27.50) which ranks third in program history.
BERKELEY, Calif. – The Brutus Hamilton Multi-Events and Invitational saw Academy of Art excel on the track and in the field as multiple Outdoor Nationals provisionals came from the women's 800m and
Yacouba Gnacko moved up in the triple jump at Edwards Stadium across Thursday through Saturday.
Amid a busy Saturday of action,
Grace Southern's first career sub-2:10.00 effort in the 800m brought with it Outdoor Nationals provisional qualification at 2:09.56. Up to 17th in the country after taking second in a 29-competitor field loaded with NCAA DI talent, she put herself fourth in program history. In the same heat as her teammate,
Michaela Andrews ran the fastest outdoor 800m of her collegiate career, crossing the finish line at 2:10.61 for a spot among the upper tier on the day as well as the top 25 in the nation.
Just one attempt into Saturday's triple jump, Gnacko took hold of the lead and never looked back. He started at 49-5 (15.06m), already a season best, then pushed further to a distance of 50-1.75 (15.28m) on his second try, finishing first of 15 on the day and now tied for 12th among Outdoor Nationals provisional qualifiers this year.
With local action now behind them, the Knights now turn their attention to the Bryan Clay Invitational (Apr. 16-19) and Mt. SAC Relays (Apr. 18-19) in Southern California as the final tune-up ahead of the Pacific West Conference Championships.
