Norma Sanchez Moreno began as a volunteer for Academy of Art women’s soccer in August 2024.
 
Sanchez Moreno has coached all over the Bay Area for numerous clubs, schools and coached for six years at San Leandro High School. At San Leandro, they coached both the varsity and junior varsity programs simultaneously. They helped make the programs competitive and helped San Leandro make DI playoffs for the first time in school history. 
 
Sanchez Moreno is currently working as the sports manager at Jamestown Community Center in San Francisco’s Mission District. They specifically focus on Girls Got Goals which is a free after-school futsal league for elementary and middle school youth who identify as female, non-binary, or trans. Sanchez Moreno helps support Girls Got Goals by leading monthly professional development opportunities, coordinating both elementary and middle school leagues, and supporting the Girls Got Goals coaches throughout the school year and the Girls Got Goals Sports Camp in the summer. They hold an Advanced National coaching credential through United Soccer Coaches.

A Bay Area native who played collegiately at Chabot College in Hayward and NAIA D1 for Lyon College in Batesville, Ark., Sanchez Moreno received their bachelor's degree in Psychology. They were at captain at Chabot for two years and received First team honors at both Chabot and Lyon College.
