Danielle LaPergola began as Academy of Art University head athletic trainer in April 2023.
LaPergola oversees all aspects of healthcare including injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for all 15 sports teams. She also serves as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Starting as an assistant athletic trainer for the Holy Names ahead of the 2021 fall season, LaPergola would soon become the program’s head athletic trainer and eventually an assistant director of athletics. While serving as a NCAA athletics health care administrator and a member the school’s Safety & COVID-19 Committee, she would oversee all 13 of HNU’s teams with primary sport responsibilities including women’s volleyball, softball, cross country, and tennis.
Prior to Holy Names, LaPergola was an intern and subsequently a graduate assistant for Wingate, a NCAA Division II school in North Carolina. She spent over three years handling injury management, documentation, and rehabilitation alongside the Bulldogs’ football, track & field, cross country, women’s lacrosse, and volleyball programs.
LaPergola received her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training with a minor in Strength & Conditioning from Neumann and would go on to earn a master’s degree in Sports Management with a concentration in NCAA Compliance and Administration from Wingate. A Board-certified athletic trainer and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, she is CPR/AED certified as well.
