Jacob Murray

Jacob Murray began as Academy of Art University assistant strength & conditioning coach in February 2024.

A strength & conditioning assistant coach with Occidental College previously, Murray helped implement programs for baseball, softball, swim & dive, water polo, tennis, golf, and soccer. Prior to that, he served as a strength & conditioning intern and Florida Complex League strength & conditioning coach with the Washington Nationals, running programs and rehabs for professional baseball players.

For the 2022-23 season, Murray could be found on staff at New Mexico State as a strength & conditioning assistant coach working with football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, men’s and women’s tennis, cross country, women’s golf, and cheer.

Murray also previously spent time with Ithaca as a graduate assistant, University of Louisiana at Lafayette as an intern, and Gabrielino High School as a throws and strength & conditioning coach.

A strength & conditioning intern and personal trainer while in school at Cal Poly Pomona, Murray earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from CPP then his master’s degree in Sport and Health Science from American Public. He currently carries National Strength & Conditioning Association and USA Weightlifting Level 1 certifications.
