Jordan Edwards posted back-to-back NCAA Division II provisional qualifying times at the UAB Blazer Invitational this past weekend (Jan. 10-11). The Central Arizona College transfer narrowly miss a spot in the 60m finals with his 6.89 mark that put him 9th by 0.005 seconds. Though he was right with Tennessee's Jarael Nelvis who ended up claiming the last finals qualifier, Edwards did best Johnathan Johnson (Arkansas-Pine Bluff) and Alton Eliphar (Florida International) as well as 23 other competitors.

"Jordan Edwards was easily the best highlight of the day with his NCAA provisional prelim race," head coach Charles Ryan said after day one. "He is a big piece of our NCAA puzzle for the men and I'm looking forward to see what he looks like over 200m."

In the 200m on day two, Edwards made onlookers notice Academy of Art with his time of 21.94 in the 200m dash. Edwards took 8th overall a field 46 competitors deep and rose to third on the Knights' all-time list with his event debut.
