Having earned a chance to participate in the championship race after a dual meet with Notre Dame de Namur this past week, the Urban Knights earned fourth place with 104 points collectively. BYU-Hawaii bested all schools in the race followed by Hawaii Pacific in second and Hawaii-Hilo in third.

The Knights were paced by Zamfir's eighth place finish and her time of 19:32.1 with Correa not far behind in 14th sporting a time of 20:38.5. Freshman Stacey Toth took home 22nd place and a time of 21:43.1 followed closely by junior Monica Anguiano who finished in 24th overall after achieving a new personal best of 22:02.3. The fifth Knights runner was junior Miranda Wiley who crossed in 36th place (26:21.8).

“The women finishing fourth was again a surprise,” Head Coach Victor Hudson said. “It was good to see everyone work hard and they stayed together the whole through. Irinel and Denisse did what they usually do. Stacey and Monica keep getting faster each week. But the key to getting fourth was Miranda beating a couple of runners. With this group and some of the athletes coming in, we're going to fight for the conference title next year.”

Hawaii Pacific's Quinn Horochuk won the race with a time of 18:53.8 and the Seasiders had all five of their runners place in the top seven slots to give them a comfortable victory.
