TWO IN A ROW:
The Urban Knights have won two games in row going into their match with St. Martin's University. They handled beat Pittsburg State University back on Nov. 28. Junior guard Ashleigh Frazier, was outstanding for the Urban Knights as she notched 20 points against the Gorillas. Frazier's 9 for 16 from the floor contributed to the team's field goal percentage of 42 and an impressive 43 percent from behind the arc. The Urban Knights followed that win with another, this time against Simpson University. It was a battle on Simpsons' home floor but AAU managed to pull out the victory thanks to senior guard Sondra Stilwell and sophomore guard Lorraine Etchell who each recorded their season high of 20 points to give the Academy of Art University the 71-63, come from behind victory.

SCOUTING THE SAINTS
St. Martins University is now 2-1 going into their game with AAU. The Saints started their season with a win over Warner Pacific College, 67-54, but then dropped their next two contests to Lewis-Clark State and Notre Dame de Namur. The Saints are lead offensively by Dara Zack who is averaging 16 points per game and Krissy Bassett who is just below her with 13 points per game. Zack also leads the team in rebounds, averaging just above nine per game.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
The Central Washington Wildcats are 0-4 early in their season but have played some tough teams. Despite a 19 point performance by their leading scorer, the Wildcats dropped their season opener 72-88 to Humboldt State. They remain winless going into their game against the Urban Knights. Sophie Russell leads the Wildcats in scoring with an average of 13.3 points per game. On the defensive end, Shaina Afoa leads the team in rebounds (7.5 ppg), blocked shots (5) and steals (8).

LAST GAME RECAP
The Urban Knights (3-1) came out on top Monday after a battle with Simpson University (0-11), to win their second straight game. Senior guard Sondra Stilwell and sophomore guard Lorraine Etchell each recorded their season high of 20 points to give the Academy of Art University the 71-63, come from behind victory.

The Urban Knights struggled early, falling behind 27-28 in the first half and shooting less than 31 percent. “I was very frustrated in the first half because I think we came into the game a little too confident and relaxed. We were not playing as hard as we should,” Head Coach Lindsey Yamasaki said.

The second half proved to be different as AAU put 44 points on the board including a combined 30 from Stilwell and Etchell. Stilwell, who leads the Urban Knights in scoring, is averaging 12.5 points per game, “She stepped up in a big way and led the team in front of her hometown fans” said Yamasaki.

The Urban Knights received another great game from junior Jessica Nolan, as the forward led the team in rebounds for the third time this season. She pulled down 11 rebounds, including seven on the defensive glass and dished out seven assists. Coach Yamasaki has been impressed by Nolan all season, “Jessica is one of our strongest players; she has a great presence and sense of the game. She got into foul trouble early, so I could not play her as much as I wanted, but her nine first half rebounds really helped us.”
