Although HPU had a four-run inning with solid hitting in the second inning of game one, AAU came back with a two-run fourth. Sophomore shortstop Camryn Hernandez and freshman first baseman Alex Rosenthal set the table for Kistler who came to the plate and ran out a bases-clearing, two-RBI triple to right-center field.
Both teams had a few chances to score over the next two innings before the Sea Warriors struck in the sixth inning when AAU junior starting pitcher Matthew Ko allowed an unearned run after two fielding errors led to a RBI single opportunity that was cashed by Sean Winston.
Ko falls to 0-2 on the season after allowing four earned runs on seven hits while walking five and striking out two in the game.
Turhan Folse, HPU's starter, had a quality outing with three strikeouts and two earned runs to his credit coming off six hits.

After two quick runs were scored by Hawaii Pacific in the first, allowed five hits (three doubles and two singles) that resulted in nine runs in the second. Kistler came on in relief of Mexicano and proceeded to get out of the jam and pitch two scoreless innings before giving up a run in the fifth and struggling with a six-run, seven-hit sixth inning.
Caelan O'Meara of HPU pitched five innings and allowed just two hits in the contest while striking out 11 Knights. Rosenthal and Hernandez had the hits, but it was a relatively light offensive attack from Academy of Art University in game two.

The two teams will wrap up their four-game series on Sunday with the first pitch scheduled for 2:00 PM at Hans L'Orange Park.
