Phoenix, AZ -- Junior infielder Chris Vargas made Academy of Art University baseball history by being the first Urban Knight named to the Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Feb. 22, for games contested on Feb. 15-21.

In the final game of AAU's road series with Fresno Pacific on Feb. 20, Vargas was hot at the plate with a 4-for-5 day. Although FPU won the game 14-7, Vargas became the second player in school history to have four hits in a game. The junior catcher also added three runs batted in.

Vargas finished the week with a .571 batting average in his two starts. He had one of the Knights' two doubles in the series, posted a slugging percentage of .714, and was getting on base .625 percent of his times at bat.

This is the first selection to the PacWest Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll for Vargas.
