Andy Caniezo also earned places on the Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll. The honors were announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Mar. 15, for games played Mar. 8-14.
Sullivan-Hames (1-4) finished the week with a save and a victory in less than 24 hours versus Grand Canyon in addition to setting the school record for most strikeouts in a game (7). On Mar. 12, the right-hander came in to get the final three outs of a 5-4 contest and preserve the win for
Rosenthal.
Sullivan-Hames then found himself on the mound again in the final game of the series on Mar. 13 and he pitched a gem. He allowed just two earned runs, threw 6.1 innings, and struck out seven Antelopes en route to the 8-6 victory.
For the week,
Sullivan-Hames posted a 2.45 ERA over 7.1 innings of work along with the seven strikeouts. To add to his historic week, this is the first PacWest Pitcher of the Week honor for
Sullivan-Hames and the first for Academy of Art University as a program.
