Speedsters Worley And Robbins Named To PacWest Weekly Top 10

Phoenix, AZ -- The two batters at the top of Academy of Art University's batting order, junior infielder/outfielder Ryan Worley and sophomore outfielder Johnathan Robbins, were both selected to this week's Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll. Both Urban Knights got on base repeatedly this past week and made things happen around the basepaths in all six games. The honors were announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Apr. 5, for games played Mar. 29 - Apr. 4.

began the week with an incredible 3-for-5 performance against Hawaii-Hilo on Mar. 30 in which he batted in a career-high four teammates, scored two runs, and swiped two bases. In the second game of the day, the centerfielder finished 1-for-3 with one run and one stolen base. Antelopes en route to the 8-6 victory. Wrapping up the PacWest series with the Vulcans on Mar. 31, Worley was 1-for-6 with three runs scored and two stolen bases.

In Academy of Art's two victories over St. Joseph's College on Apr. 3, Worley continued his hot streak. For the third time this season, he had three hits in game one including two doubles, two runs, and one stolen base. The Knights' second 10-6 win of the day saw the junior go 2-for-4 with one RBI, one run, and one steal.

Worley concluded the week with a .435 batting average (10-for-23), nine runs scored, and five RBIs. He converted seven of his eight stolen base attempts and now stolen at least one base in his last six games. Worley posted a .500 on-base percentage and a .565 slugging rate.

had arguably his best week as an Urban Knight these past seven days. In AAU's 14-run explosion against Hawaii-Hilo on Mar. 30, the sophomore set season-highs in runs scored (3) and stolen bases (3) along with two RBIs. One day later versus the Vulcans in game one, he added a 2-for-4 outing in game one with two runs and one steal.

One final season-high came for Robbins on Apr. 3 in the first contest against St. Joseph's College. The sophomore finished the game with the most RBIs (3) he has had in 2010 as part of a 3-for-5 performance at the plate. In game two against the Bears, Robbins came through with one hit in three at-bats, two RBIs, one run, and one steal.

In six starts, Robbins posted a .391 batting average (9-for-23) with seven runs scored, three doubles, and seven RBIs. He was 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts. Robbins slugged at a rate of .522 and notched a .423 on-base mark.

This is the second selection to the PacWest Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll for Worley and the first for Robbins.
