Women's Soccer Wraps Up Hawaiian Road Trip This Weekend

Knights Update: The women have been in Hawaii for the past week and have played some tough competition. ART U hung with their first two opponents keeping them scoreless throughout most of the games. Despite the Knights best efforts they are just being edged out by their opponents. But the women are hoping to turn things around in their final two games of the road trip.

ART U Outlook: The Urban Knights head to the main Island to face the University of Hawaii-Hilo on Friday, October 1st. They will then head back to Honolulu to wrap up their road trip with another game against Chaminade on October 3rd.

Knights Standouts: Although the women are ranked 9th in the PacWest standings, they are hanging near the top of the conference in several categories. ART U is ranked 4th for goals scored, 3rd in saves, and are tied for 1st in most games played. On the individual level, Megan Bucci is ranked second in the conference in shots (27), and Hannah Emmett is ranked fourth in points (8), and tied for sixth in goals (3).  Melissa Co is also ranked third in saves with 42.

Scouting the University of Hawaii- Hilo: The Vulcans currently sit in seventh place in the PacWest standings with a 1-4 conference record. Hilo most recently lost a game to conference members Dominican University on September 24th. As a team they have scored eight goals this season, and are being led offensively by Lindsey Poulsen who has scored two goals this year. Right behind her is Emily Lambert who has recorded one goal and two assists, for four points this season, and Analysa Rodriguez who has one goal and one assist for three points. Their main keeper, Alysia Barone, has played in 515 minutes, allwoing10 goals and posting 35 saves. When they two teams faced each other on September 22nd of this year, Hilo defeated the Urban Knights with a score of 1-0.

Scouting Chaminade University: This game will be a rematch between the two teams, after having played each other just four days earlier. The Knights outplayed the Silverswords offensively, however, the women fell to Chaminade after an early game deficit. The Knights will be looking to even out the score from the first game when they face off against the Silverswords in their final game in Hawaii.

Looking ahead: After the conclusion of their Hawaiian road trip, the Urban Knights return home to host a two game homestand against the other bay area conference schools. The first game will be against Dominican University on October 7th, and they will finish with Notre Dame de Namur on October 9th.
