Phoenix, AZ – After staying hot at the plate and providing strong relief innings on the mound against Patten, senior outfielder/right-handed pitcher
Alex Rosenthal now represents Academy of Art on this week's Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll. Rosenthal was 3-for-5 in the three-game series and has maintained his PacWest-leading .667 batting average. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Apr. 11 for games contested on Apr. 4-10.
In the Urban Knights' Apr. 8 series opener versus Patten, Rosenthal was called upon to produce both defensively as well as offensively. The San Diego, CA native entered the game in the third inning as a relief pitcher hitting fourth in the lineup. He delivered 6.0 innings pitched where he allowed just two runs with two strikeouts and kept ART U within striking distance for the remainder of the contest. Rosenthal also succeded in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with a run scored.
Rosenthal would again contribute at the plate in the third and final game of the series on Apr. 10. The senior reached base four times in five chances, including two singles and two walks. Rosenthal also swiped the second base of his career in the fourth inning of that contest. He later helped initiate some offense by scoring the first of a four-run Academy of Art rally in the sixth inning.
In addition to completing the three-game series 3-for-5 (.600), Rosenthal also walked twice, scored two runs, and notched a stolen base. He posted an incredible .750 on-base percentage along with a .600 slugging mark. The senior continues to lead the PacWest with a .667 batting average.
Rosenthal claims his first PacWest Weekly Top 10 honor of the season and the second in his ART U career.
