PacWest Release
Phoenix, AZ -- Sophomore outfielder
Elyse Cordova picked up her third Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll of the season this past week after batting over .545 for Academy of Art University. She continued a six-game hitting streak through the start of ART U's trip to Hawaii which featured two victories over Hawaii-Hilo, the PacWest's top team at the time. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ on Monday, Mar. 19 for games played the week of Mar. 12-18.
Cordova began the Urban Knights' roadtrip with her fifth three-hit game of the season that included a pair of doubles. One of those doubles came off her bat during ART U's breakthrough four-run seventh inning in the opener against Hilo (Mar. 16). After going 1-for-3 in game two versus the Vulcans, Cordova added her 10th multi-hit game in the first contest at Hawaii Pacific (Mar. 18). The Tulare, CA native contributed to Academy of Art's season-high tying 14 hits in that one by going 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Across four starts, Cordova hit .545 (6-for-11) with two doubles and three runs scored. She finished with a .727 slugging percentage and a .545 on-base mark. The sophomore also added an outfield assist to give her four on the year.
This is Cordova's third PacWest Weekly honor of the season and the seventh in her career.
