LEADING OFF
Academy of Art is heading into their final home series of the 2012 campaign, and are coming out of a rough series where their offense was unable to get anything going against the pitching of Grand Canyon. The Knights had strong pitching performances from Zach Mexicano and Spencer Roland, but their right-handers struggled, as Nate Gercken and Wade Broadstreet gave up a combined 12 earned runs in 8.2 innings.

EIGHT IS ENOUGH
The Urban Knights are not looking forward to the departure of their large contingent of seniors, many of whom have player major roles over the past couple years for ART U baseball. Pitchers Kallen Fletcher, Roland, and Mexicano are all in their final years for the Urban Knights, and have fortified the rotation and bullpen since they all came in. On the offensive side of the ball, the Knights will be losing half their infield as Kenny Rollins and Zach Babitt are graduating, as is superutility player Niko Leite. They'll also be honoring speedster and offensive record-holder Johnathan Robbins in the outfield, and designated hitter and first-baseman Jared DePatto. It's not too late to get catch Tuesday's festivities! Be sure to sign up for the fan bus here at Fan Bus Central.

LAST TRAIN TO SPLITSVILLE
The Sea Warriors of Hawaii Pacific have played well all year, but have met most of their struggles on the road, where they are 3-8 on the year. HPU has also split their last three doubleheaders, all by winning the first game and losing the second. The Sea Warriors are led by Derek Nakasato, who is out in front in batting with a .402 average. He also leads the team in hits (49), right ahead of Blake Amaral (47), who happens to lead Hawaii Pacific in homers (3) and RBIs (29). On the rubber, Michael Murray currently leads HPU with a 2.57 ERA and a 7-2 record. Edward Trovato has 8 saves for the Sea Warriors

BREAK OUT THE ERASERS
Many Urban Knights are poised to break or have already broken program records in 2012, the latest of which to be junior Stefen Henderson setting the program record in homeruns. Henderson now has 8 in his career, breaking the mark set by Chris Vargas in 2010. Zach Mexicano is on pace for a record-breaking season, as he continues to lower his ERA, which now stands at 4.33, well below Broadstreet's previous record of 5.40 set last year. Robbins has already set new records in hits (112) and runs (81), and Henderson is creeping up on the program record of 50 RBIs, heading into Monday's contest with 45.

WHAT'S ON DECK
The Knights will soon embark on their annual road trip to Hawaii, traveling first to Hawaii Hilo to take on the Vulcans on April 30 and May 1, and then to Hawaii Pacific to take on these same Sea Warriors on May 4 and 5 to wrap up the 2012 campaign.
