Rogers Appears on PacWest Fantastic 15 For Fifth Time

PacWest Release #9

Phoenix, AZ -- After breaking out for a new career-high with 26 points in the Urban Knights' 85-68 victory over Hawaii Pacific this past Saturday, senior Jordan Rogers captured yet another spot on the Pacific West Conference Weekly Fantastic 15. The Sparks, NV native caught fire with six 3-pointers made in the win to tie the single-game program record set four years ago. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ on Monday, Jan. 7 for games played Dec. 31 - Jan. 6.

"I felt good going into the game," Rogers said. "I shot well at shoot-around and warm-ups so I was feeling good [on Saturday]. The open shots we got came from us moving the ball more on offense and playing unselfishly."

Rogers, who added seven rebounds, three steals, an assist, and a blocked shot, balanced her scoring attack evenly across two halves with 13 points in each and finished 6-of-9 from deep as well as 9-for16 (56.3%) from the field en route to the career-high. The six 3-pointers, the final two which fended off a HPU comeback attempt, matched the record initially set by Caprice Hall in 2009 and then hit twice by Nicole DeRosier in 2010.

"I couldn't be happier with Jordan's play right now; she is really our rock in so many ways," head coach LaNay Larson said. "It's nice to see her shots falling. We have always had confidence in her shooting ability and knew that would come."

She has moved up to sixth in the PacWest in scoring (14.4 ppg) and is now fourth in free throw percentage (80.6%), 10th in blocks (0.9 bpg), 11th in 3-pointers made per game (1.6), and 13th in steals (1.9 spg).

This is the fifth time Rogers has earned a weekly award this season and the sixth in her ART U career.
