2013-14 USA TODAY Sports Pre-season Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll
Lilburn, GA -- After receiving votes on the
USA TODAY Sports Division II Top 25 women's basketball poll the first seven times it was released last season, Academy of Art University Women's Basketball made its debut with 58 votes in this year's preseason release as determined by the USA Sports board of coaches, 33 members of the
Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
The Urban Knights come off their best season to date in 2012-13. ART U was 23-7 overall, used a nine-game winning streak to eventually take the inaugural Pacific West Conference Tournament Championship, and made its first post-season appearance in the NCAA DII Tournament. Other highlights from that historic year included
knocking off #17 Pittsburg State,
sweeping a three-game Hawaii roadtrip for the second consecutive year, and
capturing an overtime win hosting #13 Grand Canyon, whom they would defeat again en route to the tournament title. For an in-depth look at the Urban Knights' 2013-14 schedule,
