Box Score ST. GEORGE, Utah — Dixie State proved to be strong at home Saturday, as the Academy of Art University women's soccer team played hard for the full 90 but fell 3-0 to the Red Storm in Pacific West Conference play at Hansen Stadium.

Dixie State (9-7-1, 7-4-0 PacWest) broke a scoreless tie 15 minutes into the game when Darian McCloy scored her third goal of the season off a rebounded shot. She collected the loose ball and shot to the left post from 10 yards out to give the Red Storm a 1-0 lead

DSU's Alexis Torres made it 2-0 Red Storm with her first goal of the season just before halftime. The ball was deflected off of the referee on a pass from Alissa Moffat, but Torres was able to collect the loose ball, dribble in from the right side and take a point-blank shot for the goal at the 44 minutes, 20 seconds mark.

The Red Storm added one more score before the final horn sounded. The PacWest's leading scorer Jennifer Mason got in on the action in the 82nd minute, making good on a well-placed cross from Jasmine Arollo by sliding in and putting it into the net from five yards away, putting the score at 3-0.

Dixie State led in shots 25-4 and held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks. Junior forward Réa Laudat led the Urban Knights with three shots, while senior goalkeeper
Rachael Rempe made six saves. The shutout victory was DSU's fifth in its last seven games. ART U suffered its sixth shutout loss in its last seven contests.

Academy of Art will travel across The Bay to take on Holy Names at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cal State East Bay's Pioneer Field in Hayward.
