Box Score HAYWARD, Calif. — Junior forward Réa Laudat made sure Thursday the Academy of Art University women's soccer team didn't leave the East Bay without a victory.
Â
Laudat scored two goals to account for all of the Urban Knights' offense while the defense shut down host Holy Names to give ART U its first road win of the season in a 2-0 Pacific West Conference victory over the Hawks at Cal State East Bay's Pioneer Field.
Â
It was Laudat's second multi-goal game of the year as she pushed her season total to six goals and 13 points, both among the top-four single-season totals all-time for Academy of Art (3-13-1, 3-8-0 PacWest) with one game still remaining. Senior goalkeeper
Rachael Rempe logged her second shutout of the season and eighth of her career with three saves in the win.
Â
The two teams played to a scoreless first half. Academy of Art outshot HNU (0-14-1, 0-10-1 PacWest) 8-2 in the first 45 minutes, though both teams put two shots on goal.
Â
Laudat didn't wait long coming out of the locker room to put ART U on top. Just 81 seconds into the second half, the Essex, England, native finished a pass from freshman midfielder
Kendall Bozart inside the box to give the Knights a 1-0 lead.
Â
That score would hold for the next 40 minutes as the Urban Knights' defense held strong while the offense outshot the Hawks 5-2 in the second half. Laudat would ice the victory in the 87th minute with her second goal of the game. Sophomore defender
Laura Mick played a ball to Laudat who finished the play with a quick shot to beat the goalkeeper and grab the 2-0 advantage.
Â
Laudat has both the game-winning goals in the Urban Knights' last two victories. Thursday's game-winner gave her four for her career, tying her for the ART U career record also held by
Hannah Emmett (2010-13).
Â
The Academy of Art women play their season finale at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Skyline College in San Bruno against Notre Dame de Namur. Four seniors will be honored in a pregame ceremony before their final game as Urban Knights.
