NCAA Division II Regional Rankings
After posting their program record 11th consecutive victory this past Monday to cap a 4-0 week which saw them secure a PacWest Conference regular season title, Academy of Art University Women's Basketball added to its historic season with Wednesday's announcement of the NCAA Division II Regional rankings. The Urban Knights have earned a 7th place ranking in the West Region, their highest ever since the program's 2008 debut.
"While we still have a lot of work to do to attain our goals, it is exciting to continue to climb in the regional rankings," head coach
LaNay Larson said. "It is very important for us to position ourselves to be successful in the postseason, but for right now our focus is definitely on tomorrow night and a big match up with Azusa Pacific."
Academy of Art University currently boasts a 21-6 overall record and, at 18-1 in conference, has clinched the top seed in the Pacific West Conference Tournament (Mar. 6-8) which will determine the winner of an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
