12623KNIGHT WATCH
A total of eight Urban Knights have contributed to scores led by sophomore midfielder Laney Haviland's two goals then a goal and an assist from senior midfielder Esme Garner-Purkis, senior forward Réa Laudat, sophomore midfielder Kendall Bozart, and sophomore midfielder Aliya Salas. Junior midfielder Natalie Gabriel leads the team with two assists while freshman midfielder Alice Michell and freshman defender Natalie Rhodes each have one goal apiece.

In goal, the Knights have split time between freshman Morgan Wirz and sophomore Maggie Alikpala-Wilson. Wirz has made nine of 10 starts to date and has each of the team's three shutouts, but both have a win to their credit and a 3.0 or higher saves per game average.

SOLAR POWER
After winning four of their first six matches capped by a 3-2 overtime win at UH Hilo, Fresno Pacific has just one victory in its last four contests. The Sunbirds fell to Hawaii Pacific, tied a scoreless match at BYU-Hawaii, topped Dominican, then fell to Point Loma on Oct. 10. FPU is currently fifth in the PacWest standings, but just one point ahead of the Knights. Thanks to the second-most goals in the PacWest (16), Fresno Pacific ranks fourth in the conference in points per game (3.82). Bianka Garcia's four scores have her tied for second in the PacWest while goalkeeper and the FPU defense have combined for three shutouts. In the all-time matchup, the Sunbirds have won three times and once tied Academy of Art.

STORM'S A-COMIN'
Second in the PacWest in assists, Dixie State has been sharing the ball excessively, particularly in its previous three matches. Scoring three goals on each occasion, the Red Storm have amassed 10 assists in those three contests which pushed them up to an even 3-3 in conference and 5-5 overall. With two players, Nichole Mertz and Jasmine Arollo, tied for the most assists in the PacWest, DSU has often fed Kaisa Rogers who has four goals on the year to lead the team. Dixie State will face Notre Dame de Namur on Oct. 15 prior to its 10th meeting with the Urban Knights. To date, the Red Storm are 9-0 against ART U.

HAWKS COME OUT WINNERS OVER KNIGHTS IN OT
Rainbow headbands throughout the crowd were the brightest colors on a foggy Oct. 11 out at Skyline College where Holy Names wound up defeating Academy of Art University 1-0 in extra time. Despite putting seven more shots on goal than their opponent, ART U fell to the Hawks on an unexpected goal on the verge of a second extra time period.

LOOKING AHEAD
Having passed the midway point in the season, your Urban Knights play four of their final six matches at home this season. The current five-part homestand concludes with Point Loma (Oct. 22) and Azusa Pacific (Oct. 24).
