PacWest Conference Championship Final ResultsÂ
LITCHFIELD, Ariz. – Academy of Art men's golf held their ground in the final day of the PacWest Conference Championship, finishing sixth overall.
Â
ART U's sixth-place finish was their best since placing fourth in
2014. The team finished the third round with 305 strokes which was their second-best output of the tournament.
Sophomore
Oskar Frick led the way for the Urban Knights, finishing 12th overall after shooting a 76 on the final day.
"Oskar led our team all year," said head coach Andy Moren. "I hope his finish we be enough to receive an individual bid to regionals. It would cap off a nice end to his breakthrough season."Sophomore
Daniel Cosgrove also saw success, producing the second-lowest score for ART U. The Trim, Ireland native tied for 24th after scoring a 77 in both the second and third rounds. One stroke behind Cosgrove was senior
Dat Do who scored a 231 overall after posting his best round of the tournament on the final day (74). The championship marks the final tournament for both Do and redshirt senior
Cody Moore who finished the tournament in 39th-place.Â
"I am going to seriously miss our seniors Dat and Cody," said Moren. "They are two incredible people who will surely find success in whatever they to do after college."With the season now at an end, the Urban Knights await the decision on whether they will participate in the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament. Regionals will be held in Las Cruces, N.M. at the New Mexico State University Golf Course.
